평화란 무엇인가?

전쟁과 분쟁, 폭력과 공해가 없는 것이 평화이다.
정치적으로 경제적으로 정신적으로 안정되어 화목한 것도 평화이다.
그러니까 어떤 국가가 단체가 혹은 개인이 자유와 평등을 파괴하지 않는 것을 평화라고 말한다.
 
전통적 의미에서 평화는 ‘전쟁의 부재’, ‘세력의 균형' 상태로 설명된다. 인류 역사상 평화의 시기는 거의 존재하지 않았거나, 극히 짧았다.
그러므로 단순히 전쟁이 없는 상태를 유지하려면 타인으로부터 공격당하지 않기 위한 전쟁 억지력이 반드시 필요하다.

즉,  소극적 평화는 강자가 폭력으로 약자를 억누름으로써 유지되는 평화, 비판적으로 말한다면 평화유지를 명분으로 약자의 저항을 억누르는 폭력(Pax Romana, Pax Americana)이 소극적 평화이다.

‘간디’는 평화를 단순히 전쟁이 없는 상황이 아니라, 정의가 구현된 상황으로 보았다. 같은 맥락에서 마틴 루서 킹 목사는 "진정한 평화는 단지 긴장이 없는 상태만을 말하는 것이 아니라, 정의가 실현되는 것을 말한다"라고 말했다. 이 지구의 노예, 식민지, 전쟁 역사는 인간이 탄생하고 나서부터 참 평화는 없었다.
 
끈임 없이 강자에 의해서 약자는 노예로 시달림을 당해야 했고, 식민지로 착취를 당했으며, 강자의 침략 전쟁으로 많은 자연이 파괴되였고 재산과 생명들까지 잃었다. 이 아름다운 꽃동산 지구에서 오늘도 분쟁과 전쟁은 계속되고 있다. 
이것들을 자세히 보니 제국주의(帝國主義-imperialism)라는 것이 있더라!

그럼 도대체 제국주의란 무엇인가?
군사적으로 경제적으로 다른 약한 나라를 정복(침략)하여 무고한 양민들을 학살하고 경제적인 수탈(빼앗음)과 영토와 권력을 넓히려는 주의를 말한다. 인간의 본성에는 생각하고 기억하는 동물이므로 욕심과 질투가 있다. 그래서 그 욕심과 질투를 윤리 도덕적으로 생각하여 책임지라고 ’물흙길’에서 많은 ’몸짓’들을 만들었다.

이 물흙길은 근본적으로 왜 창시가 되였는가부터 시작이 된다. 

1. 무술과 무도가 무엇이 다른가를 분별하여 정의를 내리기 위해서다.
2. 건강하여 자기의 꿈을 올바르게 이루게 하기 위해서다.
3. 정의의 자유를 유지하여 덕을 베풀 줄 알게 하기 위해서다.
4. 옳고 그른 것을 분별 하여 지성을 가진 자가 되게 하기 위해서다.

5. 작은 것부터 평화를 실천하여 이 꽃동산 지구에 큰 평화에 이바지하기 위해서다.
6. 양심을 지키기 위해서는 거짓과 변명과 정당화를 주려가며 정직히 살게 하기 위해서다.
이것이 참 평화고 옳그(무도)라고 생각하여 ’평화’ 몸짓을 만들었다.

What is peace?

Peace is free from war, conflict and violence so that it is pollution-free world.
Political and economic stability which bring about social harmony is mental peace as well.

It is also meant to be peace in the society where the freedom and equality in groups or individuals are maintained. 
Peace in the traditional sense is 'absence of war' and 'balance of power' in the nation.

Absolute peace in the human history almost did not exist, or, if did so, a very short period of time. Therefore, there needs to prepare the deterrent not to be attacked from the others and in order to maintain the peace in the absence of war.

Gandhi believes peace is not only simply the absence of war, but also prevailed the justice.
In the same vein, Martin Luther King Jr. said that "The true peace is not only the absence of tension, but also to realize justice.

There has been no true peace in the human history since the appearance of slavery, colonialism, and destructive wars were prevailed.
The weak constantly undergo sufferings as slaves by the strong. And as a colony in the result of exploitation lost lives and properties, and devastated our earth in the war of aggression. Today conflict and war are constantly going on in this beautiful world.

If one takes a closer look at the world, we are confronted with the monstrous imperialism!
Then, what is imperialism?

It is an ism with military powers to broaden the territory conquered by invasion and economic exploitation (rob) over other weak country.
There are jealousy and greed in the original human character as an animal of thinking and remembering. 
So, I made several "gestures" in "The Road of soil and water (Moolheukgil)" to remind you that jealousy and greed are the ethical and moral responsibility.

Then, what are the basic principles that inspired me to found the Moollheukgil ?
First, By remaining the sound health one can keep on dreaming its own.
Second, To recognize in applying virtue while maintaining the just freedom of definition.
Third, Enabling to distinguish between right and wrong, and to become a person with common sense.

Fourth, In order to contribute to peace in our beautiful earth to begin with practicing a  small peace.
Fifth, For protecting the conscience one should be living in honesty, while trying to reduce justification, excuse, and lie. 
This is what I believe the true peace so that I adventured to create the "peace" gestures in the Olgeu (martial arts).
