North Korean Taekwondo team consists of 17 members visit U.S.A. and performs at three cities including Boston(Junt 11th, 2011), New York(June 12th), and Philadelphia respetively. This north Korean team has visited in 2007 and performed 5 cities at that time. Mr.Woojin Jung, Chairman of this event gives a message about this performance.

Message from the Chair(Mr.Woojin Jung)

In October 2007 history was made. For the first time ever, the North Korea National Taekwondo Demonstration Team traveled to the United States for a five-city tour organized and sponsored by an international martial arts print magazine, Taekwondo Times. At each location, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Cedar Rapids, Louisville and Atlanta, thousands of spectators witnessed the mastery of the world-renowned team as they demonstrated the martial art of their homeland.

<##IMAGE##> The objective of the 2007 event was to establish a peaceful relationship between the U.S. and North Korea through a nonpolitical exchange. It took 16 years and tireless effort from many to make it happen. The 2007 Goodwill Tour was a precursor to the New York Philharmonic visiting North Korea in 2008 in a similar cultural exchange and was a reflection of the 1970s ping pong diplomacy between the U.S. and China

Now in 2011, the team will return. Once again, Taekwondo Times magazine is sponsoring the team’s tour to the U.S. in a three-city East Coast tour. The 17-member North Korean team will demonstrate in Boston on June 11, New York City on June 12 and in the Delaware Valley on June 14. Each demonstration will feature amazing synchronization of the team members in taekwondo forms or movements, high-flying kicks and concrete shattering breaks unlike anything seen in the United States.

As with the 2007 tour, the venues for each location are expected to sell out. The media is invited to attend and should contact the coordinator of each location for press credentials. Don’t miss this rare, once in a lifetime opportunity to view this professional team from North Korea.
