The youths in the DPRK have steadily wrought miracles and feats at every worksite of socialist construction for the country's prosperity and the people's happiness.


Among the monuments conveying the spirit of the times and the great achievements created and made by them is the Monument to the Feats of Heroic Youth, which tells about the heroic struggle waged by the youth shock brigade members to build a large-scale hydro-power station in Paektu area.

Inscribed on it are the medal of DPRK Hero and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's autograph "Monument to the Feats of Heroic Youth". It is the crystal of love and trust in the youths shown by the Supreme Leader.

In the days of construction, the youth shock brigade members overcame unfavorable weather conditions beyond the imagination to successfully complete the large-scale cascade hydro-power station, cherishing the deep trust of the Party which entrusted this project to them.

When again visiting the power station nearing completion in September Juche 104 (2015), the Supreme Leader named it "Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station". In October that year, he attended its inauguration ceremony, saying with high appreciation that all its builders are heroes as they fully displayed the greatness and vitality of the Party's idea of valuing the youth.

In April next year, he went round the completed Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station No. 3 and said that the revolutionary soldier spirit and Kanggye spirit were created in the period of the Arduous March, forced march and the Paektusan hero youth spirit was done in the present difficult period. And he reposed the deepest trust in the Korean youths, noting that they are creditably playing a vanguard role in translating the Party's determination into reality.

He personally initiated the building of the monument to convey the feats of the youth shock brigade members and appointed its position. And he saw to it that the heroic working figures of youths who implemented the order of the Party at any cost through a fierce struggle with nature were depicted on the monument.

Thanks to his detailed guidance, the Monument to the Feats of Heroic Youth was wonderfully built at the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station, a symbol of youth power, in December 2016.
