Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People"s Assembly, sent a message of greetings to Daniel Ortega Saavedra, President of the Republic of Nicaragua, on July 14 on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the victory in the Sandinist People"s Revolution.
Kim Yong Nam in the message said that the Nicaraguan people overthrew the Somoza pro-U.S. dictatorial regime under the leadership of the Sandinist National Liberation Front of Nicaragua through the four decade-long armed struggle and paved the way for building a free and equal new society.
The message highly estimated the successes made by the Nicaraguan president and government in the work to achieve the national unity, equality and development and eradicate poverty.
In the belief that the bilateral ties of friendship would as ever grow stronger in various fields in the future, too, the message wished the Nicaraguan president success in his responsible work for the prosperity of the country and the well-being of the people.
