The United States and the DPRK tentatively agreed on some real actions as a result of bilateral talks held in Pyongyang last week, Washington Post reports.

According to the newspaper, sources of which are anonymous diplomats, both countries tentatively agreed on:

  • The United States will remove the DPRK from the terrorism list and from a second sanction -- the Trading With the Enemy Act -- once it produces a declaration of its nuclear activities.

  • The DPRK will release to US officials thousands of pages of documents, dating back to 1990, concerning the daily production records of the facility.

As for the headline "N Korea Agrees to Blow Up Tower at Its Nuclear Facility" and the lead "North Korea has agreed to blow up the cooling tower attached to its Yongbyon nuclear facility within 24 hours of being removed from the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism," the newspaper wirtes in the body, "North Korean officials had privately indicated previously they would destroy the tower as part of the disablement of Yongbyon."

Although it is unclear whether "blowing up" was tentatively agreed or not, the mood is on the rise for both sides.

As for the so-called "acknowlegement" on two issues related with "past proliferation" and "uranium-enrichment program", the US side considers it as secondary, historical interest, Washington Post reports.

Reading this story, I draw a picture that the bovine but pompous revealing about Syria-DPRK nuclear cooperation by the US intelligences and follow-up statement by White House came after Sung Kim"s unrevealed report to his superior offices.

This seems the latest quotations from the Denuclearization-Normalization Exchange.
