U.S. Should Respond to DPRK's Proposal for Concluding Peace Treaty

 The conclusion of a peace treaty between the DPRK and the U.S. is the primary issue of ensuring peace and security of not only on the Korean Peninsula but also in other parts of the world.

 The issue of preserving peace and security on the peninsula is directly linked with the issue of ensuring global peace and security, and global peace and security would have been unthinkable apart from peace and security on the peninsula.

 The conclusion of a peace treaty is the issue that requires the DPRK and the U.S. to sit face to face and reach a principled agreement.

 The issue of replacing the Armistice Agreement by a peace treaty should be discussed by the officials concerned of the DPRK and the U.S.

 The U.S. has talked volumes about the "peace" and "detente" in Korea so far.

 If the U.S. truly wants the reunification of the Korean nation and peace and security of the Korean Peninsula and other parts of the world, it should roll back its hostile policy toward the DPRK and respond to the proposal for concluding a peace treaty with the DPRK.

 Everything hinges on the attitude of the U.S. towards the matter.

 If the U.S. refuses to conclude a peace treaty and insists on its hostile policy, it will only meet the resistance of the powerful revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK.

 The U.S. would be well advised to carefully approach the DPRK's proposal and take a responsible option.
