There took place army-people rallies in North Hamgyong and Ryanggang provinces and Rason City on Thursday to extend the greatest glory to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un upon his election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and to vow to thoroughly implement the decision made at the 8th Congress of the WPK.

Attending the rallies were officials of local Party and power organs, working people's organizations, industrial establishments and cooperative farms, working people and officers and men of the Korean People's Army and the Public Security Forces.

Speakers said that it was an eruption of the absolute trust and intense loyalty of all the Party members and other Korean people that the Supreme Leader was elected again as the head of the great WPK at its 8th Congress.

They called upon all officials, Party members and working people to thoroughly arm themselves with the main idea and main spirit of the 8th Party Congress and make substantial successes and progress in the socialist construction by giving full play to their revolutionary enthusiasm.

They stressed the need for all sectors and units to map out proper stage and annual plans for implementing the new five-year plan and for officials to calculate all undertakings in a scientific way and carry out them in a big way.


They called for dynamically conducting the three revolutions-ideological, technological and cultural- in rural communities and increasing the production of quality consumer goods popular among the people by fully supplying raw and other materials to the light industry factories.

They called upon the service personnel to fulfill their duties before the Party and the revolution as the main force for national defence and the driving force of the revolution and thus become honorable victors in the sacred struggle for implementing the decision made at the 8th Party Congress.

They called for achieving prosperity and development of our own style socialism by going all out for the implementation of the important tasks advanced at the Party congress.

Letters of pledge to the Supreme Leader were adopted at the rallies.

Then there were processions of the participants.
