Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- A vice-dean of the Political Faculty of University of Damascus in Syria, issued a statement titled "Might of Songun Idea and Policy" on July 12 on the occasion of the month of anti-U.S. joint struggle (June 25-July 27). The statement said:
The U.S. imperialists have massively shipped into south Korea nuclear weapons and other ultra-modern military hardware and operation supplies in breach of the Armistice Agreement, far from drawing a lesson from the defeat they suffered in the Korean war, and thus turned south Korea into the largest nuclear arsenal and biggest logistic base in the Far East. They are, at the same time, working hard to isolate and stifle the DPRK through political pressure and economic sanctions and watching for a chance to mount a military attack on it.
The Korean People"s Army and people rallied close around Kim Jong Il who has pursued the Songun policy are driving the U.S. imperialists and their allies to a tight corner.
The reality requires all the countries and nations to grasp the validity and vitality of the Songun policy of Kim Jong Il who has protected the dignity and honor of the country and the nation by augmenting the national power with priority given to military affairs and learn from it.
