FIRST Vice President of the Council of State and Ministers, General of the Army Raúl Castro Ruz, met yesterday morning with Kim Yong Nam, President of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Both leaders discussed topics of common interest regarding the results of the 14th Non-Aligned Movement Summit and the role of the Movement in the current international situation.
<##IMAGE##>The agenda of the talks also included subjects of bilateral interest in the context of the strong relations of friendship, cooperation and solidarity that have historically existed between our two peoples and governments.
The Korean leader conveyed a personal message from the Kim Jong II, general secretary of the Worker’s Party, supreme commander of the People’s Army of Korea and president of the Korean National Defense Committee, to President Fidel Castro Ruz, wishing him health and a speedy recovery.
The delegation also included Choe Su Hom, deputy minister of foreign relations; Ho Yong Bok, head of the Ministry of Foreign Relations; and Pak Tong Chun, ambassador in Havana.
Also present on the Cuban side were Carlos Lage Dávila, vice president of the Council of State; Marcos Rodriguez, deputy foreign minister; Miguel Angel Ramírez, director of the Asia and Oceania Department of MINREX; and the Rubén Pérez, Cuban ambassador in Pyongyang.
