An Internet site of south Korea carried a gruesome photo, which shows an Iraqi child killed in the Iraqi War the United States is performing. Look at it. The child of about three years old, covered all over his body with wounds due to burns and gunshot, is thrown away on the ruins. The poor child would have had his mother who had carefully nursed him and a warm nursery where he had acted cute. He would have had his house where he had shared bright smile with his parents and brothers, blooming his hopeful dream.

All that, however, has been burnt out to ashes and the child died in his babyhood in the war flames kindled by the United States.

What does the photograph say?

It tells when the peace is not preserved in the Korean Peninsula, the children in the north and the south, too, will be shot and burnt to death like Iraqi children by invaders.

If we fail in maintaining peace, the territory where the nation has lived through 5,000 years will be reduced to ashes in the war of aggression and the nation cannot avoid ruin.

The photo contains a bitter lesson of history as well.

It shows the ordeals the ancient Maya and Inca sustained because of the merciless outsiders. It also carries the disgraceful fate of the Iraqi parents who are unable to defend even the cradle of their children.

How many races and nations have been exterminated by the haughty and arrogant outsiders through the long history?

Even today the bitter history in which small and weak nations have to be trampled underfoot according to the hawkish policy of the invaders continues to flow.

All nations in the world want to live happily in peace free from war and slaughtering. But it is no better than a dream when the nation lacks the power enough to keep the peace.

But for the Songun politics of the Democratic People"s Republic of Korea, the United States would have kindled a war ten or a hundred times in Korea. Shouldn"t the Songun politics arrange the self-defensive war deterrence, a war would have brokn out in Korea so that the children of this land could hardly escape from such a miserable fate as shown by the photo. Not exceptional is south Korea under the military occupation of the American invaders. The US troops would have slaughtered the south Korean people mercilessly as they killed 1,200,000 innocent people in the south alone during the 1950-1953 Korean War. If then, the south of Korea would be reduced to ruins more terribly than Iraq and politicians, businessmen, students and all other sections of the people there would hardly escape from the gruesome fate.

The Songun politics safeguards the nation from war and secures the peace and stability all over the Korean Peninsula, and therefore, the entire nation hails the Songun politics as the patriotic politics and treasured sword for peace.

Peace is secured by strength and struggle.

The joint New Year editorial of the DPRK set it as an important task to maintain peace.

Maintaining peace is a righteous and patriotic struggle to protect our land.

Only in a peaceful climate, can the dignity of human beings and the sovereign right of the nation which cannot be bartered for anything else be ensured.

Let"s defend peace!

All the Korean nationals in the north, south and abroad should turn out in the anti-US, anti-war struggle for peace in order to defend the land of living, the cradle of happiness.

This is the very painful cry of the photo.
