Christian communities in South Korea and Japan called on South Korea Friday to renegotiate the terms of its diplomatic relationship with Japan, while urging Japan to come to terms with its past history and accept its responsibilities.

Their joint plea came days after South Korea"s Foreign Ministry declassified documents detailing the diplomatic process leading to the two countries" establishment of bilateral ties in the 1960s.
