World Conference on Anti-Imperialist Cause of Independence in 21st Century Held

Pyongyang, October 11 (KCNA) -- The World Conference on the Anti-Imperialist Cause of Independence in the 21st Century was held in grand style in Caracas from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1. Attending it were a delegation of the Korean Social Scientists Society headed by Vice-President of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People"s Assembly Yang Hyong Sop who is chairman of the society, leading members of the international and regional organizations for the study of the Juche idea, delegations and delegates from two international bodies and at least 40 countries and officials of the government and political parties of Venezuela. Congratulatory speeches were made by the vice-minister of Higher Education of Venezuela who is president of Bolivar University, the director general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, the head of the delegation of the Korean Social Scientists Society and the vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela. Introduced at the conference was a congratulatory letter sent to the conference by the general secretary of the C.C., the All-Union Bolshevik Communist Party.
At the plenary session Jose Francisco Aguilar Bulgarelli, deputy director general of the IIJI, made a report under the title "Let"s make the 21st century a century of brilliant victory of the anti-imperialist cause of independence".
The anti-imperialist independence is the intrinsic desire of the popular masses and a basic orientation of developing history, the reporter said, and went on:
A more dynamic struggle for independence against imperialism is now most urgently required for shattering the imperialists" moves for aggression and war and defending world peace and stability.
"Globalization" pursued by U.S. imperialism is neo-colonialism of contemporary form aimed at subjugating all the countries and the nations and assimilating them to it, the reporter noted, calling on them to be aware well of the danger and hypocritical nature of the imperialists" moves for aggression committed under the pretext of "freedom" and "democracy" and conduct a dynamic campaign to disclose and shatter them.
The victorious advance of the anti-imperialist cause for independence at present is unthinkable without the Songun idea based on the Juche idea, he said, noting that the Juche idea and the Songun idea serve as a bright torch clearly indicating the road of victory in the anti-imperialist cause for independence.
Referring to a series of tasks to be fulfilled to bring earlier the victory of this cause, he called upon every country and nation to launch an uncompromising struggle against imperialism and boost the solidarity and cooperation among all the anti-imperialist independent forces from a firm anti-imperialist independent stand.
It is necessary to intensify the activities for the study and dissemination of the Juche idea, he said, adding that these activities should be conducted to suit the specific historic conditions, characters and cultural traditions of every country and region and orient them to settling the realistic matters arising in accomplishing the cause of global independence.
At least 30 persons including the secretary general of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea, the director general of the Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea, the vice-chairman of the Korean Social Scientists Society, the chairman of the Russian Youth Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and the secretary general of the African Regional Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea spoke at the plenary session. The people of all countries that love independence and peace should resolutely stand up against the hegemony and arbitrary practices of the U.S. imperialists, the speakers said, stressing the need to wage a powerful anti-imperialist struggle for independence, fully confident that if they fight against the U.S. imperialists to the last, they are sure to win.
The speakers expressed firm solidarity with the Korean people in their cause of the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea. A declaration adopted at the conference said that it is the unanimous aspiration and historic task of humankind in the 21st century to build an independent, peaceful, friendly new world and the Juche idea and the Songun idea serve as a treasured sword for winning a certain victory in the anti-imperialist cause of independence in the 21st century.
The declaration urged all the countries and nations not to get scared by the bluffing of the U.S.-led imperialists nor pin any hope for their "aid" or "remedy."
All the countries and nations advocating independence should firmly preserve the Juche character and national identity and settle problems arising in all fields including politics, economy, military and foreign affairs their own way, it noted, underscoring the need to boost the international unity and solidarity among the anti-imperialist independent forces and intensify the study and dissemination of the Juche idea and the Songun idea. A letter to leader Kim Jong Il was adopted at the conference.
