BEIJING. Feb 14 (Interfax) - U.S. financial sanctions against North
Korea have had a negative impact on six-nation talks on the North Korean
nuclear issue, Chinese Foreign Ministry representative Liu Jianchao said
at a briefing on Tuesday.

Financial sanctions have had a negative impact on the negotiations,
the Chinese diplomat said, stressing the need for active contacts
between all parties concerned in order to promote the process.

China continues making efforts in the area, he said, adding that,
in particular, a trilateral meeting between China, North Korea and the
United States played a positive role.
