Rodong Sinmun of the DPRK dedicated an article on Saturday to the 71st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Russia:

The two countries have boosted the relations of friendship, closely cooperating with each other in various fields including politics, economy and culture on the basis of independence, equality and reciprocity since the day when the diplomatic relations were established.

The DPRK-Russia friendly relations are invincible friendship which have ceaselessly developed without losing its true nature and engine under the special care of and thanks to the efforts of the preceding leaders.

The DPRK-Russia relations have been put on a fresh high level on the basis of the excellent friendship between Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and President Putin.

The two countries seek a joint goal of opposing external intervention and pressure and defending their sovereignty. This is a key factor that enables the two countries to boost their friendly and cooperative relations.

The long history of the DPRK-Russia relations was the days which proved that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries have fully conformed with their aspirations, desires and interests and served as a great contribution to ensuring regional and global peace and security.

It is the fixed stand of the DPRK government to steadily develop the strategic and traditional DPRK-Russia relations of friendship at a new level and as required by the new century.
