Jo Chol Su has replaced Kwon Jong Gun as director general of the DPRK MFA North American Affairs Department. Russian Embassy in the DPRK revealed this on its facebook timeline on October 1.
As for Kwon's new job, Yonhap News reported he is expected to serve as a vice chief in the working-level negotiations with the US.
With both of two, Kim Myong Gil, known as chief delegate of the DPRK side to the DPRK-US working-level negotiations, took a plane from Beijing to Stockholm on October 3.

On October 2, Ambassador Alexander Matsegora and Director of the Center for Energy and Security Studies Anton Khlopkov met with Jo Chol Su - the Director-General of the North American Department of the DPRK Foreign Ministry - who concurrently holds the position of the President of the Institute for American Studies (IFAS - ed) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged their views on the situation on the Korean Peninsula and prospects for its future development, as well as opinions on the Russian-Korean cooperation aimed at ensuring peace and security in the region in a context of the agreements reached during Vladivostok summit of the two leaders.
Alexander Matsegora congratulated Jo Chol Su on his appointment to a high and extremely responsible position and wished him every success in his work.
