We will fight for future of our children

Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan released a statement titled "We will fight to the end for the future of our children" on September 11.

The Japanese authorities are working overtly and covertly to exclude kindergartens of the Korean schools from the list of "free-of-charge system of infant education and care" by invoking "Child Rearing Support Act" which will take effect from October.

The exclusion of the children of Koreans obliged to pay consumption taxes just like the Japanese people is an extremely unfair and heinous national discrimination, the statement noted.

The Japanese authorities of more viciously and persistently resort to political suppression and discrimination against Chongryon and Koreans in Japan despite their lip-service to "dialogue" with the DPRK. Such an act should never be tolerated.

Korean women and mothers will fight to the end to protect the rosy future of children and the flower garden of national education.
